The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
To assist in the delivery of an effective national water hygiene service to ensure City Facilities Management (UK) Ltd meets its statutory responsibilities and provides safe working environments for employees, clients and those affected by our undertaking
Key Accountabilities
To follow any instructions from the Night Water Technician / Water Hygiene Supervisor or Water Hygiene Manager
To raise reactive job for any non PPM (Pre-Planned Maintenance) tasks being undertaken.
To carry out the cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks and where practicable their associated down systems in Asda premises (nationally) subject to 6 monthly risk based inspection.
The cleaning and chlorination tasks are generally undertaken outside normal store trading hours, to minimise disruption to trading.
When instructed to give advance notice to Asda and City Management of intended works. This will be via phone calls to the sites and emails to appropriate City line management.
To complete the required correct documentation during site visits communicating regularly with Night Technician.
Nightly handover/ update sent to WH Supervisor along with task associated documentation.
Any additional work required is raised as per company process.
Assist with servicing schedule for Kalguard water softening systems.
Undertake servicing of cold water drink dispensers when requested.
On completion of works associated jobs must be closed down as per company process.
Ensure regular communication with line management, providing updates on any issues arising from works.
To notify night technician of any defective equipment.
To maintain stock levels of consumables and chemicals. Inform night technician of any stock or equipment issues.
Keep vehicle in clean, safe and tidy condition ensuring all chemicals stowed as per H&S guidance.
To undertake additional water hygiene tasks during day time hours as and when required.
Assist dayshift colleagues during periods of holiday and sickness or other absence as and when required.
Work alongside other night shift colleagues as required and throughout the UK.
Undertake any additional works as required by the National Water Hygiene Manager/Supervisor. (Please note where the term ‘Assist the National Water Hygiene Manager/Supervisor’ is noted this may involve either working under specific guidance provided by the National Water Hygiene Manager/Supervisor or alternatively working on your own volition during periods of holiday and sickness or other absence from the business of the National Water Hygiene Manager/Supervisor
Undertake any other duties which contribute towards meeting the objectives of general store and ALS operations of which the water hygiene team are part of.
To assist in any other water hygiene related tasks as instructed by the Water Hygiene Supervisor or National Manager.
All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
To be proficient in the use of written and verbal communication, report writing and recording procedures.
To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
Ensure all mandatory Evolve on-line training modules are completed.
To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team.
